Glanbia Nutritionals is Hiring a Driver Near Ripon, CA
Essential Duties:
- Communicate with procurement supervisor, co-workers and dairy farms daily.
- Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from local dairies and distribution centers as scheduled
- Ensure contents are properly secured in truck and/or flatbed to prevent damage/injury
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
- Report defects, accidents or violations
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods)
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
- Track and report working hours
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
- Make safety a priority at all times
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years proven experience in truck driving preferred
- Valid driving license
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Familiar with dairy farm operations strongly preferred
- Familiarity with HACCP preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of electronic driving equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, etc.)
- Must be a team player at all times while providing exceptional customer service
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
- Skilled at driving vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for long periods of time
- Effective verbal communication, and public relations skills are required
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Ability to successfully multi-task
- Must be able to follow all health, safety and clothing requirements
- Ability to pass background check and drug test
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Flexible working schedule, which may include overnight travel, and long-haul driving
- Sitting, standing, walking and climbing
- May work in hot/cold and wet environment
